Jaczko: San Onofre to remain offline until tube issue addressed
Southern California Edison needs to determine the cause of a steam generator tube leakage that prompted the shutdown of its San Onofre nuclear plant in California and devise a plan to prevent similar incidents before the facility is allowed to restart, said Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Gregory Jaczko. "They have to demonstrate to us that they understand the causes and that they have a plan to address the causes that assure public health and safety," Jaczko said.
