Obama to ask Congress for more nuclear loan guarantees
President Barack Obama is prepared to seek from Congress an additional $9 billion in loan guarantees for new nuclear projects, a Democratic aide said. Mitch Singer, a spokesman for the Nuclear Energy Institute, said the loan-guarantee increase should give the Energy Department "most, if not all, the resources needed to grant conditional loan guarantees to the other finalists."
