Study: Senate climate bill to create more than 200K jobs a year
The Senate climate bill would raise average annual U.S. employment by 203,000 between 2011 and 2020 as the country shifts from fossil fuels toward renewable energy and nuclear power, according to an analysis by the Peterson Institute for International Economics. The bill would also cut U.S. oil imports from the about 11 million barrels daily in 2008 to between 6.6 million barrels and 7.4 million barrels a day in 2030, the study added.
