TVA approves $248M toward construction of Ala. nuclear reactor

The Tennessee Valley Authority board cleared $248 million to finance the site preparation and engineering design of the Unit 1 reactor at the Bellefonte nuclear plant in Alabama. The company could spend as much as $4.7 billion to complete the unit.
