Blog Post: More Workers Exceed Dose Limits at Fukushima Daiichi

Eight more Fukushima Daiichi workers have exceeded the allowed radiation dose, Tokyo Electric Power Co. reported recently, with two of those exposed to more than twice the allowed limit.

The government raised maximum dose limit from 100 millisieverts to 250 millisieverts, but a number of workers have still exceeded that amount in recent months.

TEPCO recently submitted radiation exposure assessments for 2,400 workers to Japanese regulators, Kyodo News reported. After announcing earlier that two workers had exceeded twice the allowed dose, the company reported on Monday that another six had exceeded the 250-millisievert limit.

A further 94 workers have recorded allowable doses above the old 100-millisievert limit, Kyodo reported. Among them, six have been exposed to doses between 200 and 250 millisieverts.
