Secretary Chu to Join
President Obama at Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul,
Highlight Strong Partnership with Japan in Tokyo
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Energy
Secretary Steven Chu will join President Barack Obama at the
2012 Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul on Monday, March 26 and
Tuesday, March 27. The Secretary will help highlight the
President’s commitment to securing all vulnerable nuclear
material around the world within four years.
Following the summit, Secretary
Chu will visit Tokyo from March 28 to March 30 to highlight
the strong partnership between the United States and Japan on
international security, economic, and energy issues. During
his visit, the Secretary will highlight the strong scientific
and business ties between our two nations by meeting with U.S.
and Japanese business leaders, and participating in a
trilateral workshop on critical materials featuring
participants from the United States, Japan and the European
Union.
