Engineers and scientists from various countries attended an International Atomic Energy Agency conference in Utah to tackle the extension of the operating lives of nuclear plants worldwide. "There is a need to urgently respond to public confidence" in nuclear energy, said Alexander Bychkov, the IAEA's deputy director general.
