Dominion wants more storage containers at Conn. nuclear plant
Dominion
Resources seeks to boost the number of dry storage containers at its
Millstone Power Station in Connecticut from 19 to 135, said company
spokesman Ken Holt. The number would be sufficient to hold all used
nuclear fuel produced through 2045. U.S. nuclear plants started using
dry containers in 1987, and "there have been no significant problems
with them at any of the sites," said Tom Kauffman, the Nuclear Energy
Institute's senior media relations manager. The Day (New London, Conn.)
