NEA Strives to Start Hongyanhe NPP Units 5 & 6

An officer from National Energy Administration (NEA) disclosed on August 13th that two units will be approved to start construction by the end of this year.They are Hongyanhe units 5 & 6. NEA declared for the first time to the publicity and clearly put forward the number of new start.
Based on introduction of the American AP1000, the two units will adopt domestic third-generation nuclear power technology. Meanwhile, the development of domestic nuclear power construction progressed slowly. Intensify construction should be taken in order to complete relevant objectives.
By June, total of 20 units are under operation with installed capacity of 17.94 Kwh and 28 units under construction with installed capacity of 30.62 Kwh.

Hongyanhe Units is the largest nuclear power plants in Northeast China that six million-kilowatt units are planned to be built. At present, units 1 & 2 have been connected to the grid and units 3 & 4 are being constructed.
