CIERP - The Center for International Environment and Resource Policy

Kevin Knobloch joins the Climate Policy Lab team

As Chief of Staff at DOE and senior aide to Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz, Kevin worked domestically to implement DOE's portion of Obama's Climate Action Plan, and internationally on the Clean Energy Ministerial and the Paris Agreement. As President of the Union of Concerned Scientists, he was a dynamic leader that bolstered UCS’s scale and influence. We are delighted to welcome Kevin to our team where he will develop and lead a new initiative on the role of the private sector in energy innovation.

Research Spotlight

CPL Fellow Rishikesh Ram Bhandary is heading into the field to investigate climate finance from the vantage point of developing countries. He begins in Bangladesh where he is investigating which types of climate finance institutions are most efficient in attracting international climate finance, and which are most effective at delivering finance to implement policy. He will continue his global research later this year in Fiji, Indonesia, Brazil, Guyana and Ethiopia.  In Fiji, the Nepali-born expert will be collaborating with UNDP on a workshop with the Fiji government on how to set up climate trust funds, with special emphasis on South-South learning.
