Pg&E Announces New Ceo, Board Members Amid Financial, Safety Questions - SFGate: PG&E this week announced sweeping leadership changes as the utility company continues to try to find its footing in the wake of devastating Northern California wildfires for which it may be held liable.
The company has named a former chief of the Tennessee Valley Authority, William Johnson, as its new president and chief executive officer.
PG&E also said it will bring on 10 new board members to fill seats left vacant by what the utility called "a significant board refreshment process."

The changes are part of PG&E's efforts to survive a massive financial liability resulting from the 2018 Camp Fire, which killed 88 people and almost completely destroyed the city of Paradise, and the 2017 North Bay fires.
The company has said its equipment likely caused the Camp Fire and investigators have said it's also responsible for many of the North Bay fires.
PG&E was also convicted of violating safety regulations and obstructing a probe into a fatal natural gas pipeline explosion in San
