Generation Atomic

Wanted to share a few things as we head into the holidays!
Firstly, our online magazine editor David Watson just penned a very interesting piece: "The five things EVERYBODY should know about nuclear energy" of course "Being low-carbon and always on" and "leaving space for wildlife" are on there... but what are the other three? Click to read the full story on Gen A Mag.

Next up, take a few moments of silence tomorrow for another clean energy warrior lost before its time.  Muhleberg Nuclear Plant in Switzerland will shut down early for economic reasons (aka not getting any recognition for being carbon free and always on).  Rest in peace and thank you for your service!
BIG NEWS: We're hiring for a campaign in Illinois to support a transition to 100% Clean Power (as opposed to 100% Renewable, which would require shutting down about 90% ofs Illinois existing clean energy).  Do you know someone who might be interested in fighting for clean energy in Springfield, Chicago, Macomb, or Champaign? We're hiring full-time (professional) and part time positions (for students).  Send them our way!
We're hiring
AND FINALLY....
THINGS YOU CAN DO:
1.) We launched two new digital actions these past two weeks.  One supporting more research into low dose radiation. And the other encouraging provincial legislators in Alberta to get on the bandwagon with Ontario, New Brunswick, and Saskatchewan in supporting small modular reactor development!  If you are in the US or Alberta, take a couple seconds and let your representative know you care about these issues!
2.) In coalition with our friends at North American Young Generation of Nuclear and American Nuclear Society - Young Members Group, we launched a social media contest with $1000 in prizes.  You can enter with a meme, infographic, or short video. Click here for more info and to submit an entry.

Happy Holidays to you and yours and thank you so much for your support throughout 2019.  Here's to an even better 2020!

Eric and the Gen A-Team
