Kola NPP pilots use of ultraviolet wastewater disinfection - World Nuclear News: Pilot testing of a new ultraviolet wastewater disinfection system has started at the Kola nuclear power plant. For one of the largest consumers of water in the Murmansk Region (more than 1 billion cubic metres annually), the new system will enable disinfection of water without the use of chemicals containing chlorine, Kola NPP said.
