Russia Completes Welding Of Upper Half Of Rooppur-2 RPV :: The Independent Global Nuclear News Agency: Welding has been completed of the upper half of the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) for the second unit of Rooppur nuclear power station under construction in Bangladesh, Russian equipment manufacturer Atomenergomash said in a statement.



According to Atomenergomash, the operation was completed by its subsidiary Atommash in 25 days and involved continuous heating at temperatures between 150C and 300C. The 250-tonne RPV component was then placed in a special furnace for four days to finalise the welding process.
