Japan needs nuclear power, says energy minister : Nuclear Policies - World Nuclear News: Japan's energy minister has said he considers nuclear energy "indispensable" if the country is to meet its target of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Speaking to the Financial Times, Hiroshi Kajiyama said power shortages last month due to heavy snowfall highlighted Japan's need for nuclear.
