It was "grossly premature" for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to halt the licensing review of the Yucca Mountain nuclear-waste repository, Commissioner Kristine Svinicki wrote in a letter to Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas. Svinicki said she disagrees with Chairman Gregory Jaczko's Oct. 27 letter to Barton, in which Jaczko said the order was in line with agency policy.
