U.S. Energy Security, not Politics, Should Drive Keystone XL Debate

Occasional threats to global oil supply are
one reason why U.S. energy security requires “an all-out,
all-of-the-above strategy,” as President Barack Obama recently put it.
Though this strategy must include alternative energy sources, the U.S.
will continue to depend on oil for its energy needs. Here, Canada can
play an even-greater role in maintaining the stability of the U.S.
energy picture.
