EDF announced this weekend that it will not purchase the Horizon Nuclear Power project recently abandoned by German companies RWE and E.On. The joint venture originally intended to invest in new plants in Anglesey and Oldbury, but last week the companies announced they were cancelling the plans due to financial reasons. The UK government hoped EDF would step in and save the project, but the French energy giant has decided to go in a different direction.
