On
17 April 2013, the International Energy Agency (IEA) published a report
entitled, Tracking Clean Energy Progress 2013 at the fourth Clean
Energy Ministerial. The report analyses the latest global development
and deployment of 11 clean energy technologies, and it provides specific
recommendations to governments on how to better fight climate change.
The report says that "nuclear power plays a substantial role in the
decarbonisation of the electricity sector". It also shows that progress
has not been fast enough and that the world is not on track to meet the
target of limiting global temperature increase to 2°C by 2050.
