Nov. 17, 2014—Late this year, Entergy Nuclear’s Vermont Yankee power plant in Vernon, Vt., will close for economic reasons. The company’s operating revenues at the 604-megawatt plant are squeezed by a combination of sagging electricity demand, low energy prices and restructured markets that undervalue nuclear energy's contributions.
