The use of electricity has been a great benefit to society, particularly in health terms, but it also carries health costs.
The question with any power source is “Is it providing more benefit than harm?” And how can we maximize benefits while minimizing the negative aspects. As with any decision in life there are risks associated with any choice, and energy generation is no exception. It is an unfortunate fact that world media outlets are driven by grabbing and holding our attention, not by the dissemination of accurate valuable information. Over the years this had lead to public perception of nuclear energy that is largely formed by sensationalism in the media. This paper seeks to put the risks of present and new nuclear technology into proper perspective.
