Help 1000 Girls Get To Know Nuclear

Help 1000 Girls Get To Know Nuclear
ANS is seeking members and Local Sections interested in partnering with local Girl Scout Councils to help 1,000 Girscoutpatch1.jpgl Scouts earn the Get to Know Nuclear patch by the end of 2015. In the fall of 2014, ANS established the patch in collaboration with the Girl Scouts Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Council. To date, 380 patches have been earned.

The Girl Scout patch requirements are similar to the Boy Scout Nuclear Science Badge, except with a focus on girls and teamwork. The requirements are suitable for Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors, however, variations can be made to meet the educational levels of Brownies and Daisies as well.  You can get involved by partnering with local GS Councils to schedule workshops in your state. Patch requirements and a workshop planning toolkit can be found at http://www.ans.org/pi/resources/girlscouts/ (member login required).
