AREVA TN Opens Canister Manufacturing Facility In North Carolina
AREVA said Tuesday
that its nuclear logistic division AREVA TN, had opened a concrete
casting facility in North Carolina that is designed to manufacture
components for the company's NUHOMS horizontal spent fuel storage
modules.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony in Moyock, N.C., the second for AREVA TN in the Tar Heel state in 12 months, was attended by state Rep. Bob Steinburg and company officials. The four-acre Moyock facility will employ 20 people and manufacture concrete components for dry storage of spent fuel that AREVA called a “fortress-like system that houses large steel canisters that safely contain used nuclear fuel.” Read more or comment
