Local first responders, emergency crews hold mock disaster to prepare for emergencies | WSBT: You don't always know when a natural disaster or emergency will happen, so local first responders and emergency management are making sure they are prepared. They held a mock disaster Thursday afternoon in Rochester. Every year, the state requires a simulation of some sort of emergency. They pick a small town in our area and carry out the scenario. In the past, they've done tornadoes, snow storms, or other weather events -- but this year they focused on an event that could kill thousands.
