Obama kickstarts India's nuclear deal
The deal this week allowing spent nuclear fuel from the United States to be reprocessed in India is an important step forward in making the earlier US-India civilian nuclear agreement meaningful and a timely affirmation for Delhi of its importance in US President Barack Obama's strategy for the region. India has welcomed the progress, which comes after Washington rebuffed Pakistan's calls for similar nuclear cooperation. - M K Bhadrakumar (Mar 30, '10)
