Official: Global nuclear fuel bank could come on line by late 2013
The
global community's first nuclear fuel bank could be operational in
Kazakhstan by late 2013, said Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan
Kazykhanov. "We think it's an important initiative because it further
strengthens nuclear nonproliferation" globally, Kazykhanov said. The
bank would be accessible to countries that require low-enriched uranium
for reactor fuel, he added. The Wall Street Journal
