NRC Adds 20 More Years to Vogtle Licenses
The
U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on Wednesday renewed the operating
licenses for Southern Co's (SO.N) Vogtle nuclear power plant in Georgia
for an additional 20 years.
The new licenses for Units 1 and 2 will expire on Jan. 16, 2047, and Feb. 9, 2049. Southern submitted the application for the new licenses in June 2007.
