Nuclear plays key role in U.S. push for energy independence
The
Nuclear Regulatory Commission's approval of the construction of two new
reactors in Georgia is the first step toward the revival of nuclear
power as a viable source of energy, writes Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga.
Nuclear power is a proven clean technology and a stable investment that
would help the U.S. achieve energy independence. "I encourage President
[Barack] Obama and Secretary [Steven] Chu to continue this investment in
our future by expanding the development of additional plants," Gingrey
writes. The Hill/Congress Blog
