House clears funding provision for Ohio uranium project
The
House of Representatives voted to preserve a provision in a
defense-program bill that would allocate about $150 million for USEC's
uranium-enrichment facility in Ohio. The company is seeking a $2 billion
loan guarantee from the Department of Energy. "Over the last three
years, the Obama administration has worked tirelessly to support the
American Centrifuge Plant," said department spokeswoman Jen Stutsman.
"The administration is focused on advancing this technology in a way
that protects the taxpayers." USA TODAY
