Canadian
uranium miner Cameco has cancelled a US$30 million uranium contract
“following the March 2011 events,” the company said May 1 in a veiled
reference to the Fukushima nuclear accident.
Cameco
President and CEO Tim S. Gitzel declined during a May 1 conference call
with analysts to identify the counterparty in the cancelled contract,
leaving the market to speculate whether it was Japanese, German or
other.
