Jordan’s
Atomic Energy Commission, which was scheduled to choose a reactor
technology for the country’s first reactor this month, has instead
decided to enter a nine-month negotiation with two of the contenders –
an Areva-Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) joint venture, known as
Atmea, and Russia’s Atomstroyexport, according to published reports in
the Jordan Times.
