Report says climate change could cause problems for nuclear plants
Coal-fired
and nuclear facilities could encounter efficiency issues because of the
effects of climate change, according a report published in Nature
Climate Change magazine. Water temperatures could surge over the next
five decades, causing such facilities to run below capacity, the study
says. "This study suggests that our reliance on thermal cooling is
something that we’re going to have to revisit," said University of
Washington professor Dennis Lettenmaier, co-author of the report. FuelFix.com
