Relicensing of Pa. nuclear plant clears regulatory hurdle
Exelon's license renewal bid for its Limerick nuclear plant in Pennsylvania cleared another hurdle after Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff released a safety assessment report with open items, which involve operating experience with aging management systems. Exelon "has identified actions that have been or will be taken to manage the effects of aging in the appropriate systems, structures and components of the plant, and that their functions will be maintained during the period of extended operation," the NRC said.
