N.C. official wants joint nuclear project between Duke, Progress
Duke Energy Carolinas and Progress Energy Carolinas should consider jointly building nuclear plants in North Carolina, said Ed Finley, chairman of the state Utilities Commission. His statement comes after both companies outlined planning and resources proposals for the commission. Duke and Progress could share construction expenses and space them out, Finley added.
