Today marks
the 67th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, which killed
140,000 people. Three days later, the U.S. dropped "fat man" on Nagasaki that resulted in another 75,000 casualties.
To commemorate
this anniversary, FAS solicited and compiled essays from members and
distinguished experts. FAS selected 18 of the best articles written by
experts who pondered the destructive capacity of nuclear weapons, as
well as the wisdom of all uses of nuclear energy - particularly given
last year's meltdown of the reactors in Fukushima, Japan.

FAS also invites you to comment on these perspectives at the bottom of the page.
