New Jersey awards first ZECs - World Nuclear News: The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has awarded Zero Emission Certificates (ZECs) to the Salem and Hope Creek nuclear power plants. NJBPU President Joseph Fiordaliso said the board had a "moral obligation" to do all it can to decrease carbon emissions.
