Appeals court raises damages award for Kan. plant owners
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit raised the amount to be
awarded to the owners of the Wolf Creek nuclear plant in Kansas for
costs of storing used fuel after the federal government failed to start
disposal of the material by a 1998 deadline. The $12.6 million damages
award is about $2 million higher than the amount ordered by the U.S.
Court of Federal Claims. Platts
