Japan governor touts key role of nuclear plants
Nuclear
power should continue be regarded as a crucial electricity source in
Japan as the country works on a post-Fukushima Daiichi energy policy,
according to the Fukui prefectural government. "It is necessary for the
state to be responsible in maintaining the vitality of areas hosting
[nuclear power plants] that have contributed to the nation's energy
policy and supported the Japanese economy," said Fukui Gov. Issei
Nishikawa. The Mainichi (Japan)/Kyodo News
