IAEA Endorses Location for Egyptian Atomic Reactor
The International Atomic Energy Agency has endorsed a proposed location for Egypt to built its initial atomic power reactor, the Indo-Asian News Service reported Saturday (see GSN, Aug. 26).
The al-Dabaa site about 180 miles from Cairo complies with international standards, agency experts said Saturday.
The North African nation intends to build four atomic energy reactors by 2025; the first of the reactors is slated to begin work in 2019 (Indo-Asian News Service/The Hindu, Sept. 18).
