OECD sees renewed interest in nuclear careers

More students are seeking nuclear energy careers, agency says
Young individuals worldwide are starting to pursue careers in the nuclear energy industry after a long period of diminishing interest, said Ron Cameron, chief of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's Nuclear Energy Agency. The industry raised concerns about the lack of nuclear-engineering trainees over the last 20 years, but the agency has noted new interest in the field. "For the first time, surveys around the universities are showing that students are choosing careers in nuclear in a way which wasn't there before," Cameron said.
