U.S. would benefit from commercialization of SMRs
The
design and commercialization of small modular nuclear reactors would be
a boon for Missouri and the rest of the U.S., write Sen. Claire
McCaskill, D-Mo., Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-Mo.; Warner Baxter,
president and CEO of Ameren Missouri; and Kate Jackson, senior vice
president and chief technology officer at Westinghouse Electric. It
would create jobs and make the U.S. more energy independent. "The U.S.
must continue to be a leader who invents, produces and exports the
greatest products in the world. We must create the technology, the jobs,
the educational opportunities and the rewards right here at home," they
