Energy Dept. to delay removal of waste from INL
The
Dec. 31 deadline for cleaning up the Idaho National Laboratory's
stockpile of radioactive liquid waste will likely be postponed because a
storage facility for the material isn't yet operational, said Tom
D'Agostino, the department's nuclear security undersecretary. A
settlement between Idaho and the federal government requires that all
waste from the site be hauled away by 2013. The Spokesman-Review (Spokane, Wash.) (free content)/The Associated Press
